Trunk / Liftgate Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

Trunk Release Cable And Latch Striker:

1. Remove left front sill plate.
2. Remove left rear sill plate.
3. Remove left lower B-pillar trim as necessary to gain access to release cable.
4. Disengage retainers holding carpet to door opening sills.
5. Remove screws holding trunk release handle to floor pan.
6. Route handle and cable into rear seat area.
7. Remove rear seat cushion and back.
8. Remove lower quartet trim panel.
9. Route handle and cable into trunk.
10. Separate trunk lining away from left quarter panel.
11. Remove trunk opening sill plate.
12. Remove bolts holding trunk latch striker to rear closure panel.
13. Separate trunk latch release cable from vehicle.
14. Reverse the preceding operation.
