PARTS REQUIRED:

2 4416408 Rubber Bumper

2 **4796325 Loop Fastener, Black Velcro Strip, Loop Side (Non-Adhesive
Backing)**

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves modifying the headliner and adding a rubber shim to the folding top linkage.

1. If the backlite is broken, replace the backlite as outlined in the 1994 LeBaron, Spirit, Acclaim, Shadow, Sundance Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-4101, Pages 23-52 through 23-54).

2. Disengage the snaps holding the headlining to the quarter inner panels. Remove two (per side) elastic straps that hold the headliner to the body by cutting the straps at the base of the stitching. The straps being removed are in the first and third position from the edge of the backlite glass (Refer to Figure 1).

3. Engage the outboard half of the lower velcro patch on the headliner, 1 " in from the edge, on both sides of the backlite with **P/N 4796325** Velcro strip. This reduces the attaching surface area (Refer to Figure 1).

4. Cut off and discard the retention tip of the rubber bumper, P/N 4416408, and place it between the clock spring and the linkage on the # 3 bow on both sides of the folding top frame (Refer to Figure 2).

5. Before reinstalling the headliner, pull up the sling well and make sure the silencer pad underneath is not folded over or bunched up. The pad should be positioned as one layer to cover the rear floor pan area.

6. Reinstall headliner.
