SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer complaint of difficulty in installing the convertible top boot. The boot may be too tight and the plastic tab may come out of the rear seat retainer or the retaining clips may come out of the rear attachment track.

NOTE:
THE ABOVE PARTS ARE TO BE USED ON VEHICLES WITH A MEASUREMENT LESS THAN 13-3/8" (340 mm).
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the convertible top boot with the appropriate part dependent on the measurement between the rear attachment channel and the top of the rear seat shoulder belt tower.
1. Lower both right and left door and quarter windows and release the front folding top latches and lower the convertible top.
2. Using a tape measure, hook the end in the rear attachment channel at Point A and extend the tape measure through the center of the top front edge of the rear seat shoulder belt tower at Point B, maintaining the tape parallel to the center line of the vehicle. Record the measurement. Perform the same measurement on the opposite side and record the measurement. See Illustration.
3. If either of the measurements are equal to, or greater than, 13-3/8" (340 mm), use the appropriate parts called out in the Parts Required section. If both measurements are less than 13-3/8" (340 mm), use the appropriate parts called out in the Parts Required section.
