Roof Header Front Side Rail Weatherstrip and Retainer Removal

Roof Rail And Header Weatherstrips:

REMOVAL
1. Release latches holding roof header to windshield header.
2. Raise folding top to mid point.
3. Starting at rear end of side rail, pull weatherstrip from retainer.
4. Remove screws holding weatherstrip retainer to header or side rail.
5. Pull retainer away from adhesive back foam sealer on header or side rail.
6. Separate retainer from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean adhesive residue from weatherstrip retainer as necessary
2. Install adhesive back foam tape on back of weatherstrip retainer.
3. Place retainer in position on header or side rail.
4. Install screws to hold weatherstrip retainer to header or side rail.
5. Install corner seal between header and side rail retainers.
6. Locate and mark the center of the front header retainer and the center of the weatherstrip.
7. Apply a 8 mm (0.250 in.) bead of black weatherstrip adhesive to back of weatherstrip.
8. Starting at the center of the front header, insert weather into retainer working toward side rails and align corners.
9. Insert weatherstrip into side rails toward rear and align ends of weatherstrip to make full contact with center side rail weatherstrip.
10. Clean excess adhesive from weatherstrip and water test vehicle.
