EEPROM Checksum Error

Name of Code: EEPROM Checksum Error

When Monitored: Continuously.

Set Conditions: The sum of EEPROM constants does not equal the correct value.

Theory of Operation: By using a checksum, the BCM monitors the value of each programmable constant. The code is set if any value is incorrect.

Possible Causes:
^ EEPROM was not programmed correctly by the manufacturer.
^ EEPROM failure.
^ Electromagnetic interference (primarily electrostatic discharge) has scrambled EEPROM.
