CD Error

Name of Code: CD Error

When Monitored: With the radio ON.

Set Conditions: The radio monitors the compact disc player for proper operation. If the radio detects an error during loading, table of contents read, play, or eject operations, this trouble code will begin to mature. If the problem is present for three consecutive ignition cycles, the trouble code will be set.

Possible Causes:
^ Operator error (inserting CD upside down; holding onto CD while loading or ejecting)
^ Damaged CD
^ Condensation on CD
^ CD laser failure due to extended operation at high temperatures (internal radio temp above 176° F)
^ Repeated attempts to play CD at low temperatures (internal radio temp below 5° F)
^ Radio failure
