Air Suspension - Rear End Sag/Intermittent Operation

Rear Of Vehicle Sags/ Intermittent Operation Of Load Leveling Or Air Suspension

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Vehicle may experience loss, or intermittent operation of load leveling or air suspension. This may be caused by the load leveling or air suspension relay connector not securely mating to the relay. only vehicles built prior to MDH 09-19-XX (September 19, 1991) are effected. Vehicles prior to this date should have the following procedure performed.


PARTS REQUIRED:

1 Tie Strap 6015756


REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This procedure involves securing the load leveling or air suspension connector to the relay by adding a tie strap.

1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Verify that the load leveling or air suspension connector (located on the right side of the trunk compartment) is fully mated with the relay and that the locking tab is engaged.





3. Verify that the connector is fully seated and engaged. Secure the load leveling or air suspension connector to the relay using a tie strap, PN 6015756 (Figure 1).


4. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, connect the negative battery cable.

5. Verify that the system is operating properly. If the system is not operating properly, refer to the 1992 Front Wheel Drive Car Engine, Chassis, and Body Service Manual, Publication Number 81- 270-2101.
