3.3.10 Warning Lamp Open and 3.3.11 Warning Lamp Short

When Monitored

The ASDM monitors this circuit continuously while the ignition is on.

When Stored in Memory

A Warning Lamp Open code is stored in the ASDM's memory when the ignition is turned to the off position.

Effect

The air bag warning lamp will not light during the bulb test when the ignition is turned on. Normally the light will come on for approximately 7 seconds to verify proper operation.

Possible Causes

This code may be set due to a defective bulb, a damaged printed circuit for the instrument cluster, a problem in the wiring or connectors in the circuit between the bulb and the ASDM, or a defective ASDM.

Test Procedures

Follow the required test sequence starting with Test 1A.
