Checking Map Sensor Circuit:

Test NS-3A continued, Part 2 of 2.

1. Turn ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect the engine controller.

3. Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.

4. Using an external ohmmeter, measure the resistance of the VT/WT wire, (Figure 2).

- If the resistance is above 10 ohms, repair the wire, and perform Verification Test 1. Verification Test VER-1

- If the resistance is 10 ohms or less, go to step 5.

5. Check valve timing and compression.

- If the valve timing and comporession are within specifications, replace the MAP sensor.

- If the valve timing or compression is not within specifications, repair the engine as needed, and perform Verification Test 1. Verification Test VER-1
