Help 2 - Testing the DRBII
Although the only place equipped to physically test the DRBII for proper operation is the manufacturer, you should be able to determine the state of your DRBII by using some simple substitution techniques and the process of elimination.^ Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and disconnect the DRBII, adapter cable, and cartridge.
^ Find a second vehicle identical in equipment to the original vehicle.
^ Connect the DRBII assembly to the second vehicle and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
^ Use the DRBII as you did on the first vehicle.
^ If you do not have the same condition as before, the problem is not the DRBII. Return to the test that sent you here.
^ If you still have the same problem as you did before substituting vehicles, you have a bad DRBII or adapter cable.
^ If you don't have another DRBII, send your DRBII assembly in for repair. You cannot proceed with testing until you get a working DRBII.
^ If you have another DRBII, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and disconnect the DRBII assembly.
^ Substitute your other DRBII adapter cable for the original, connect the DRBII, turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and see if the DRBII works.
^ If it does, you have a bad adapter cable. If it doesn't, send your DRBII assembly in for repair. Use the good DRBII or adapter cable and return to the test that sent you here.
