On-Board Diagnostic System

Diagnosis of vehicle systems other than the body system uses the DRBII to read hard fault messages. The reason for the fault is then diagnosed to find the source of the problem. When a body system does not operate properly, a warning message will appear on the EVIC panel, or the customer will describe a complaint.

The body systems are monitored by individual control modules, which then send information about their operation to the body controller.

Diagnosis of body system problems is accomplished by:
- performing the tests in this manual that apply to the warning message or the customer complaint.
- using the DRBII to read information from the body controller or any other module on the CCD bus system about the functioning of each body system.
- reading fault codes when instructed to do so.
