How to Reach the Module Menu
HOW TO REACH The MODULE MENUIn order to perform the diagnostic tests, you must operate the DRBII to reach the module menu level within the BODY or THEFT ALARM diagnostic programs. At the module menu level, you can:
- read fault messages
- select DRBII test functions
The instructions below tell you how to reach the module menus.
If you already know how to reach these menus, see "How to Select a DRBII Test Function" found later in this HELP 1 for instructions on how to select a DRBII test function.
A. Connect the DRBII to the vehicle by plugging the DRBII connector into the CCD bus diagnostic connector. This connector is located under the dash to the left of the steering column.
B. Turn the vehicle's ignition switch to the "RUN" position.
NOTE: Do not touch the keypad during the DRBII power-up sequence or an error will result.
C. The copyright date and diagnostics program version number will be displayed briefly similar to the following:

NOTE: The version number (V2.FO) is subject to change. It may not appear on the display exactly as it is illustrated above.
D. After a few seconds, the display will change to read as follows, or press ENTER to change the display immediately:

1) VEHICLES TESTED
2) HOW TO USE
Press the down arrow twice to view the rest of the menu. The screen will display:
DRBII
2) HOW TO USE
3) CONFIGURE
4) SELECT SYSTEM
NOTE: For an explanation of items 1), 2), and 3), see "How to Use the DRBII Menu" found later in this HELP 1.
E. Select 4) SELECT SYSTEM to enter the diagnostic test program. The display will change to read as follows:

2) TRANSMISSION
F. Press the down arrow three times to view more of the menu. The screen will display:
SELECT SYSTEM
3) BODY
4) SUSPENSION
5) ABS
G. Press the down arrow two more times to view the rest of the menu. The screen will display:
SELECT SYSTEM
5) ABS
6) PASSIVE REST
7) THEFT ALARM
To enter the body system part of the DRBII program, select 3) BODY.
H. The display will change to read as follows:
BUS TEST IN PROGRESS
BUS OPERATIONAL
NOTE: If any other message appears, it means there is a problem with the CCD bus, which must be corrected before proceeding with diagnostic testing. Refer to Information Bus for diagnosis and repair procedures.
I. After a few seconds the display will change to read as follows:
BODY STYLE
1) AA BODY
2) AC BODY
J. Press the down arrow three times to view more of the menu. The screen will display:
BODY STYLE
3) AG BODY
4) AJ BODY
5) AS BODY
K. Press the down arrow one more time to see the last menu item. The screen will display:
BODY STYLE
4) AJ BODY
5) AS BODY
6) AY BODY
L. Enter the number that matches the body type of the vehicle that is being diagnosed. The display will change to read as follows:
SELECT MODULE
1) BODY COMPUTER
2) ELEC CLUSTER
M. Press the down arrow three times to view more of the menu. The screen will change to read as follows:
SELECT MODULE
3) EVIC
4) ENGINE NODE
5) TRAVELER
N. Press the down arrow three more times to view more of the menu. The screen will display:
SELECT MODULE
6) COMPASS/TEMP
7) ELE/MECH CLUST
8) COMPASS/MINI TRP
O. Press the down arrow one more time to see the last menu item. The screen will change to read as follows:
SELECT MODULE
7) ELE/MECH CLUST
8) COMPASS/MINI TRP
9) SYSTEM TESTS
P. Enter the number that matches the module that is to be tested. The display will change to read as follows:
[name of module]
VERSION X.X
The name of the module that was selected will appear on the top line of the display. The version number of the module that is installed in the vehicle will also appear on the display.

After a few seconds, the display will change to read as follows, or press ENTER to change the display immediately:

NOTE: The menu will be named for the module that was selected. For example:

ELEC CLUST MENU

Q. Press the down arrow three times to view the rest of the menu. The screen will display:

4) ACTUATOR TESTS

At this point, you have reached the module menu for the module you are testing. This menu lists the test categories that have been programmed into the DRBII cartridge. From these categories, you can select any of the specific test functions of the DRBII diagnostic program.
Instructions for reading fault messages and for selecting DRBII test functions are found later in this HELP 1.
To enter the vehicle theft alarm part of the DRBII program, select 7) THEFT ALARM. (Refer back to Step G.)
R. The display will change to read as follows:

After a few seconds, the display will change to read as follows, or press ENTER to change the display immediately:

At this point, you have reached the THEFT ALARM MENU of the THEFT ALARM diagnostic program. Now you can select any of the specific test functions that have been programmed Into the DRBII cartridge. Instructions for reading fault messages and for selecting DRBII test functions are found below.
