Charging System Verification Tests
Test CH-VER - Charging VerificationInspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.
If the engine controller has been changed, do the following:
1. If the vehicle is equipped with a factory theft alarm, start the vehicle at least 20 times so that the alarm system may be activated when desired.
2. If the vehicle is a minivan or truck body, write the EMR mileage into the new engine controller.
Connect the DRBII to the engine diagnostic connector and erase faults. Refer to HELP 1 for assistance. Help 1 - Operation of the DRBII For Diagnostic Testing
Ensure no other speed control problem remains by doing the following:
1. Start the engine.
2. Raise the engine speed to 2000 rpm for at least 30 seconds.
3. Allow the engine to idle.
4. Turn the engine off.
5. Turn ignition key on.
6. With the DRBII, read fault messages. Refer to HELP 1 for assistance. Help 1 - Operation of the DRBII For Diagnostic Testing
If the repaired fault has reset, the repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS and return to TEST CH-1A if necessary. CH-1A Testing Battery
If there is another fault, return to TEST CH-1A and follow the path specified by the other fault. CH-1A Testing Battery
If there are no other faults, the repair is now complete.
