Service Procedure

1. Remove center console components to expose the parking brake cable equalizer bracket.

2. Apply the parking brake and inspect the position of the equalizer bracket:

^ If the bracket is straight (as shown in Figure 1), the length of both cables is the same and no further cable service is required. Reinstall console components.

^ If the bracket is crooked (as shown in Figure 2), replace the longer cable following the cable replacement and adjustment procedures in 1991 Front Wheel Drive Car Service Manual # 81-270-1101. Reinstall console components.

Note: The longer cable is the one attached to the more forward end of the crooked equalizer bracket.
