Neutral Safety Switch: Description and Operation

The transmission [1][2]PARK/NEUTRAL switch is located on the transmission. It provides an input to the engine controller, indicating what position (PARK, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, etc.) the transmission is in. This input is used to determine idle speed, injector pulse width, and ignition timing.
