Compass/Temperature Module Adjustments

To Set the Compass
1. Press and hold down both the COMP/TEMP button and the US/METRIC button.
2. The display will go off, and after 5 seconds, the VAR light will come on. Continue to hold both buttons down.
3. After about 10 seconds, the CAL light will come on.
4. Release both buttons; the display will show the compass heading and the outside temperature.
5. Drive the vehicle in one to three complete circles. When the CAL light goes off, the calibration of the compass is complete.

To Set the Variance
1. Press and hold down both the COMP/TEMP button and the US/METRIC button.
2. The display will go off, and after 5 seconds, the VAR light will come on. Release both buttons.
3. Press the US/METRIC button until the number of the zone you are in appears on the display. When the number appears, release the button.





NOTE: To determine your zone number, refer to the zone map above.

4. Press the COMP/TEMP button to enter the zone number.

NOTE: Do not attach any magnetic device such as a magnetic CB antenna to the vehicle. This can cause the compass to give false readings. If it is necessary to degauss the vehicle, see TSB 08-14-87 supplement A.

NOTE: If a vehicle is equipped with an EVIC module along with a Compass Temperature module, the compass heading and variance may be set from either of the two modules.
