CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION # 466 -- ENGINE VALVE SPRING
^ Reference: Two documents concerning this service requirement have already been sent to all Chrysler/Plymouth and Dodge dealers:
- E-Mail message on October 18, 1989 from T.R. Cunningham. Subject:
Withhold Delivery of Affected Vehicles Until All Engine Valve Springs are Replaced.
- Letter on October 20, 1989 from R.N. Rossi. Subject: Replace Engine Valve Springs -- Withhold Delivery of Affected Vehicles Until Repair is Completed
(Enclosure: VIN listings of affected vehicles still in dealer inventory.)
^ This service required applies only to 1990 model vehicles equipped with 3.3L engines which are shown on the vehicle listing enclosed with the referenced October 20, 1989 letter.
Note: Due to a data processing error, some dealers may have received an additional listing of vehicles purchased by leasing agencies. These lists should be discarded.
^ Only vehicles in dealer inventory require this service at this time.
Note: The Imperial model was listed in the referenced E-Mail message. This was an error. The Imperial is not affected and all Imperials can be delivered.
^ Parts packages for valve spring replacement will be distributed in several shipments. Dealer orders for additional parts packages will not be accepted until completion of these shipments.
^ Please do not call the Engine Hot Line for parts. Chrysler is currently expediting the procurement and packaging of the necessary parts for shipment dealers.
Involved dealers should receive initial quantities of parts by approximately October 30. Enough parts for repair of all involved vehicles should be distributed by about mid-November.
