1. Disarm airbag as described under "Airbag System Disarming."
2. Remove left instrument panel silencer.
3. Remove right and left cowl side and scuff plate attaching screws, then the scuff plates.
4. Remove right and left A pillar trim mouldings by removing two push pin fasteners per side and disengaging from clip on B pillar trim.
5. Remove instrument panel top cover by pushing forward and prying up, using a straight edge to aid in removal.
6. Disconnect bulkhead connector from brace under left side of instrument panel.
7. Remove glovebox/ash receiver module, as follows:
a. Open upper storage bin door, then remove two screws attaching front wall of storage bin to mounting bracket.
b. Remove console and drawer.
c. Remove two screws attaching mounting bracket to lower instrument panel, then the mounting bracket.
d. Disconnect glovebox/ash receiver wiring connectors.
e. Remove ten screws around edge of glovebox/ash receiver assembly, then the assembly.
8. Remove right instrument panel silencer, then the center panel support brace and airbag diagnostic module.
9. Disconnect airbag module electrical connectors, then remove upper and lower cluster bezels.
10. Remove steering column cover.
11. Remove steering column mounting nuts, then lower steering column.
12. Unhook shift indicator cable eyelet from steering column actuator.
13. Unlatch lock tab in shift indicator column insert and squeeze legs together to remove from steering column.
14. Remove cluster assembly while guiding PRNDL indicator guide tube through access hole in base panel.
15. Remove instrument panel steering column opening support/hood release handle assembly.
16. Remove two steering column upper studs, then loosen side cowl tie down bolts.
17. Remove steering column tilt lever, then the upper and lower lock housing shroud.
18. Remove lower fixed shroud, then the upper fixed shroud.
19. Disconnect airbag pigtail, ignition switch and halo light/key buzzer switch wiring.
20. Disconnect multi function switch by loosening connector jack screw and pulling connector from switch.
21. Disconnect airbag pigtail from wiring trough housing by pulling two push fasteners.
22. Remove wiring trough from steering column, then the defroster ducts.
23. Remove five screws attaching instrument panel to cowl panel.
24. Loosen instrument panel pivot bolts, roll instrument panel down, attach a hook to hold panel in position.
25. Open hood and remove plenum grill.
26. Disconnect washer bottle, resistor block and under hood lamp wiring. Washer bottle must be removed to gain access.
27. Remove grommet and pull plenum wiring into vehicle through plenum panel.
28. Disconnect right demister hose from instrument panel, then the antenna cable.
29. Disconnect right and left 25-way body wiring connectors.
30. Disconnect A/C heater unit control cables, wiring connectors and vacuum harness.
31. Remove right side instrument panel ground wire, then disconnect body controller wiring.
32. Remove instrument panel pivot bolts, then the instrument panel.
33. Reverse procedure to install.
34. Refer to "Airbag System Disarming" procedure to reactivate airbag.
