The Variable Damping Suspension (VDS) system, allows the driver to choose between three suspension calibrations, firm, normal or soft, when the ignition switch is ON.
The Variable Damping Control Module (VDCM) provides the three suspension calibrations, by actuating an electric motor driven valve in each strut and shock absorber, which changes the fluid bypass orifices in each unit. The VDS system only controls vehicle ride, and does not control vehicle height.
