Internally, each shock and strut has a Soft position feedback switch, a Firm position feedback switch, a motor and fluid bypass orifices. The position feedback switches monitor the position of the motor, and send this information to the Variable Damping Control Module (VDCM). The motor varies the size of the fluid orifices in the shocks and struts to achieve the three different damping settings. The electrical connector, is located at the top of each shock and strut.
