Start-Stall And/Or Rough Idle On Cold Engine Start Up
NOTE: THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.0L MMC ENGINES AND MANUAL TRANSAXLES.

1990 (AG) Daytona
(AJ) Lebaron Coupe/Lebaron Convertible
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vehicle may exhibit an intermittent rough idle and/or start and stall condition on a cold engine start-up. These conditions will most likely occur within the first minute after a cold engine start-up, when the ambient temperature is between 60~F and 90~F.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using the DRB II and appropriate diagnostic procedure manual, verify that the vehicle engine systems are functioning as designed (no fault codes are present). If all systems are functioning correctly, proceed with the repair procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
Engine Controller (SBEC) for 3.OL MMC with Manual Transaxle
1 AG, AJ, Federal and California 4720782
1 Authorized Modification Label 4275086
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves replacing the Engine Controller (SBEC) with a revised one.
1. With the ignition key in the OFF position, disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the SBEC as outlined in the Service Manual, and install the revised SBEC.
3. Connect the battery.
4. Type the required information on the Authorized Modification Label as shown in Fig. 1, and attach near the VECI label.
POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
