Turn Signal Switch Replacement

1. The turn signal switch can be serviced without separating the pod inner and outer halves.

2. Remove the turn signal lever by pulling it straight out of the switch.

3. Remove the two phillips head screws from the bottom of the switch pod that secure the turn signal switch.

4. Remove the turn signal switch pigtail wire from the retaining clip and then unhook the pigtail from the headlamp switch at the eight-way white connector. Remove the turn signal switch.

5. Position the new turn signal switch loosely into the switch pod and then connect the pigtail wire to the headlamp switch. Use caution so as not to damage the small diameter terminals on the headlamp switch. Place the pigtail wire into the retaining clip.

6. Install the two phillips head screws which retain the turn signal switch. Position the turn signal lever so it can be read from the front of the pod and then push the turn signal lever straight into the switch. Do not force the turn signal lever because it can only be installed one way.

7. Carefully install the switch pod back onto the instrument panel. Use caution to prevent damage to the small diameter wire terminals on the back of both the headlamp and wiper switches. Do not force the pod into position because you may push out or dislodge the headlamp or wiper/washer wiring harness connector located in the instrument panel just behind the pod.

8. Check for proper operation of all components which are controlled by the pod mounted switches.
