Service Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery lead.

2. Remove the left front outboard screw and right front screw from the lower surfaces of the switch pod (see Figure 1).
3. Adjust the tilt steering wheel (if so equipped) to its lowest position for increased access to the upper surface of the instrument panel.

4. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver, pry up evenly around the edges of the instrument panel vent located just forward of the switch pod and remove the vent.

5. Use a short handled Phillips screwdriver to remove the two switch pod retaining screws from the panel vent opening (Figure 1).

6. Remove the switch pod assembly from the instrument panel by pulling straight rearward to release it from the switch connectors. Set the pod aside for parts return.

7. Install the new, supplied switch pod assembly by pushing it forward to fully engage the switch connectors.

8. Reinstall two pod attaching screws in the panel vent opening and tighten to 20 in.lbs. torque.

9. Install the two lower switch pod attaching screws and tighten to 20 in.lbs. torque.

10. Reinstall the panel vent.

11. Reconnect battery.

12. Test all pod mounted switches for proper function.
