Campaign - Instrument Panel Switch Pod: Overview

90CHRYSLER06 NO. 468

March, 1990
To: All Dodge and Chrysler-Plymouth Dealers

Subject: Customer Satisfaction Notification # 468 Instrument Panel Switch Pod

Models: 1990 Dodge Daytona and Chrysler LeBaron Passenger Cars Built Through Month-Day-Hour (MDH) 08-13-XX

The screw attaching bosses used to mount switch modules to the instrument panel switch pod on the listed model cars may crack, resulting in some loosening of the switches. The condition results from the use of a petroleum based lubricant on the switch mounting screws which causes the polycarbonate mounting boss material to deteriorate and crack.

To correct the condition, the switch pod assembly (including switches) must be replaced on affected cars.

Important: Be sure to complete the service on involved cars in dealer inventory before retail delivery.

Details of this service action are explained in the following sections. As an additional service aid, a videotape demonstrating the service procedure is included in the February, 1990 Master Tech program.
