Motor Runs Slowly at All Speeds

1. Disconnect electrical connector from motor, then remove wiper arms and blades.
2. Connect an ammeter from motor "L" terminal to battery.
3. If motor operates and ammeter reads more than 6 amps, proceed to step 4. If ammeter reads less than 6 amps, proceed to step 5.
4. Check for wiper linkage binding, then disconnect drive link from motor. If motor now draws less than 3 amps, repair linkage. If motor draws more than 3 amps, replace motor.
5. Check for shorts between high and low speed wires at harness as follows:
a. Install one lead of a voltmeter or test lamp at motor ground strap and set wiper switch to Low position, then connect the other lead to the "H" terminal of wiring harness.
b. If voltage is indicated, repair wiring or wiper switch.
c. If zero voltage is indicated, set switch to High position and move voltmeter lead from "H" terminal to "L" terminal.
d. If voltage is indicated, repair short in wiring or wiper switch.
