NOTE: THIS BULLETIN PERTAINS TO ALL OF THE 1990 AC & AY VEHICLES, BUT ONLY THE 1991 VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO MDH 12-11-XX.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles equipped with a 3.3L or 3.8L engine may exhibit cold engine driveway dieout, cold idle roughness, or cold light throttle tip-in sag/hesitation. This condition will be most noticeable in high ambient temperatures or when using winter grade fuel.

DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the vacuum lines at the purge solenoid connector (Figure 1). The top vacuum line should be routed to the engine vacuum harness above the right motor mount. The lower line should be routed to the vapor canister. If the routing is not correct, perform the following repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves rerouting the vacuum lines to the purge solenoid.
1. Remove the rubber connector from the purge solenoid.
2. Pull the two 3/16" nylon lines out of the rubber connector.
3. Switch the position of the nylon lines and insert them into the rubber connector. Do not use any adhesive or sealant on the nylon lines when inserting them into the rubber connector.
