3. Connect a test light between the Test lamp Ground Pin and the Test Lamp Feed Pin.
4. Connect a wire into Diagnostic Ground Terminal and ground the other end of wire by connecting it to Compressor Ground Terminal, body ground or control module fastener.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

OPERATION

1. The compressor relay will be activated by the Control Module (CM) until the vehicle is raised to the high position. The maximum relay operation time is 140-160 seconds. If the expected position is not obtained within the time limit, the CM will cease testing and the test light will be illuminated continuously, indicating a failure. Chart 1 - Vehicle Remains In Low Position

2. After the vehicle raises, the test lamp will indicate the height sensor position. The height sensor should be in the high position.
- A flashing test light indicates proper operation.
- A continuously illuminated test light indicates a failure. Chart 3 - Height Sensor Failed In High Position

3. Next the exhaust solenoid will be activated until the vehicle is in the low position. Maximum exhaust solenoid operation time is 110-130 seconds. If the expected position is not obtained within this time, the CM will cease testing and the test light will be illuminated continuously, indicating a failure. Chart 4 - System Does Not Exhaust

4. After the vehicle lowers, the test lamp will indicate the height sensor position. The height sensor should be in the low position.
- A flashing test light indicates proper operation.
- A continuously illuminated test light indicates a failure. Chart 2 - Height Sensor Failed In Low Position

5. The compressor relay is then activated to return the vehicle to the level position. If the expected position is not obtained within the time limit, the CM ceases testing and the test light is illuminated continuously, indicating a failure. Chart 5 - Height Sensor Failed In Mid Position

6. After the vehicle returns to the normal position, the test lamp will indicate the height sensor position. The height sensor should be in the mid position.
- A flashing test light indicates proper operation.
- A continuously illuminated test light indicates a failure. Chart 5 - Height Sensor Failed In Mid Position

7. When test is successfully completed, the CM will resume normal operation. Throughout testing vehicle load must be maintained, no loads should be added or removed once the test has been started.

VERIFICATION TEST

To verify system operation test, disconnect test ground wire, then reconnect and perform test again.

TERMINATION OF TEST

The test will be terminated if the diagnostic terminal is disconnected from ground, or the ignition switch is turned OFF. When the test is terminated, the CM will resume normal operation, unless the test was terminated due to detection of a system malfunction. When testing is completed, be sure to reconnect the protective cover to the Diagnostic Connector.
