Body Control Module: Testing and Inspection

BODY SYSTEMS EQUIPPED WITH ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS

All 1990 Dodge Dynasty, Chrysler New Yorker, New Yorker Landau, New Yorker 5th Avenue, and Imperial vehicles are equipped with body electronic components which have an On-Board Diagnostic System. This diagnostic test procedure has been designed to find any problem in the shortest amount of time using all the features of the On-Board Diagnostic System.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The following changes have been made to the Diagnostic Manuals.

The changes are the addition of isometric connector views (when possible) and a system schematic at the top of the graphic page to assist in diagnosing the problem. Please notice that the schematic at the top of the graphic page does not show all the interconnections between the two points being tested, or all the splices on that circuit, only what is applicable to the circuit being diagnosed.

Whenever a connector is disconnected, inspect the connector for damage. Three basic types of damage to connectors may occur. They are: corrosion of terminals, split or broken connector shell, or backed out or spread terminals. These conditions may cause bad connections and therefore, be the source of the problem. Repair or replace damaged connectors or terminals as necessary.
