Tips, Capacities & Labor Allowance

If noise condition still exists after completing the above procedure, it will be necessary to verify the system is not overcharged. Connect a manifold gauge set and refer to the A/C refrigerant system diagnosis chart with variable displacement compressor in the service manual for maximum pressures.

NOTE: SOME POINTS TO REMEMBER:

When checking the system operation or recharging the system, it is important to understand that the noise is directly proportional to head pressure, the higher the head pressure, the higher the noise.

Any overcharge condition will increase the head pressure and in turn cause more noise.

If system is overcharged, it will be necessary to evacuate the system into an approved recycling device.

The total system charge capacity includes between 10 and 14 ounces of refrigerant which is stored in the receiver drier as a reserve. Reducing the reserve amount will not adversely affect the system performance.

When Charging the System Follow the Revised Capacity Listed Below:

Models Revised Capacity

"AS" Body Front A/C only 27 ounces
with rear A/C 38 ounces

"AC" & "AY" 31 ounces
