Disable airbag, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair. After procedure has been completed, rearm airbag system.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove upper and lower cluster bezels as follows:
a. Move shift lever to Low position.
b. Remove five Torx upper bezel attaching.
c. Lift upper bezel over steering wheel to remove.
d. Remove four lower bezel attaching screws.
e. Lift lower bezel from instrument panel to remove.
3. Remove lower steering column cover.
4. Disconnect shift indicator cable from steering column shift housing.
5. Remove four cluster attaching screws, then the cluster assembly.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install cluster assembly while routing shift indicator cable through base panel.
b. Place shift lever in N.
c. Pull shift indicator cable so pointer is between R and N, then allow cable to snap back.
d. Connect shift indicator cable to shift housing, then place shift lever in P.
