Differential Pressure Cut-Out Switch

Differential Pressure Cut-Out Switch:

VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR
1. Remove protective rubber boot from low pressure cut-out switch and jump leads together.
2. Press the A/C button.
3. Start the engine.
4. If clutch does not engage, the wiring, fuse or ambient sensing switch, located in front of the radiator, may be defective. Check the clutch and circuits.
5. If clutch engages, connect the manifold gauge set and read compressor discharge pressure. At any pressure of 283Kpa (41 psi) and above, at a minimum ambient of 50°F, the switch engages clutch. At this ambient condition or above if the discharge pressure is below 317Kpa (46psi) the refrigerant system is low on charge or is empty due to a leak.
6. Connect boot on switch and repeat step 3. If clutch does not engage, replace the switch.
