Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation
The ATC system incorporates in-vehicle and ambient temperature sensors, both of which return an electrical signal to the control computer.
The in-vehicle sensors an integral part of the motorized aspirator assembly which is mounted in the instrument panel. A small fan draws the air from the passenger compartment and across the sensor. The computer then makes system adjustments to maintain a constant passenger compartment temperature.
The ambient sensor is located in the A/C housing above the glove box. The computer uses the information provided by the ambient sensor to regulate the low blower speed, cold engine lockout time, temperature offsets and mode control.
