Aspirator: Testing and Inspection

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Turn the ATC system to ON.
3. Place a 3"x3" piece of paper over the air intake grille for the in-car temperature sensor.
- If the paper is held by the suction created by the aspirator motor, it is operating properly.
- If the paper falls from the air intake grille, go to step 4.
4. Check if the aspirator motor is turning. A slight humming noise may be heard from the aspirator motor.
- If the aspirator motor is turning, check for a poor seal between the air intake grille and the aspirator motor or a loose aspirator hose.
- If the aspirator motor is not turning check for a 12 volt power source and a good ground at the aspirator motor. If power and ground are sufficient, replace the aspirator motor.
