Removal

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Support engine, then remove right engine mount.
4. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil.
5. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick up. It may be necessary to remove transaxle inspection cover.

6. Remove accessory drive belt as follows:
a. Remove right front wheel and tire assembly, then the inner splash shield.
b. Release belt tension by rotating the tensioner clockwise, Fig. 22, then remove accessory drive belt.
7. Remove A/C compressor and position aside.
8. Remove A/C compressor mounting bracket.

9. Using a suitable puller, remove crankshaft pulley as shown, Fig. 23. Pull from inner hub area only.

10. Remove idler pulley from engine bracket, then the engine bracket, Fig. 24.

11. Remove cam sensor from chain case cover, then the chain case cover, Fig. 25.
