Repair Procedure "AC" & "AY" Bodies Only

This procedure involves installing an A/C compressor strut bracket.

1. Remove cylinder head bolt that holds the ignition wire retaining bracket in place and discard bolt (Figure 2).

2. Install stud, PN 6501589, into cylinder head where bracket retaining bolt was removed, and torque stud to 30-50 ft.lbs.
3. Remove nut attaching A/C compressor closest to clutch assembly, and install the A/C compressor to cylinder head bracket PN 4612008 over both studs (Figure 2). Install nut and washer PN 6101445 onto stud installed into cylinder head and torque to 200-300 inch lbs. Install nut removed from compressor mounting bracket and torque to 30-50 ft.lbs.
