General Information
This Speed Control System is electrically actuated and vacuum operated. On 1990 models the control lever on the steering column incorporates a slide switch which has three positions, "Off," "On" and "Resume." The "Set" button is located at the end of the three position slide switch. The system is designed to operate only when vehicle speed exceeds 30 mph. On 1991-92 models, the controls are located on the steering wheel. The controls consist of a SET/DECEL, RESUME/ACCEL and ON/OFF buttons. This system will operate only when vehicle speed exceeds 35 mph.On 1990 models, engage the speed control at desired speed by depressing and releasing the "Set" button. Speed should be maintained at present level. Moving the slide switch from "Off" to "On" with the vehicle moving will establish the current speed in memory without system engagement.
Normal brake application or a soft tap on the brake pedal should disengage system without erasing speed memory. Moving the slide switch to "Off" disengages the system and erases speed set in memory.
On 1991-92 models to activate the system push ON/OFF button to ON. When desired speed is obtained push the SET/DECEL button to engage system. To deactivate system push ON/OFF button or lightly tap on brake pedal. On models with manual transaxles depressing the clutch pedal will also deactivate system.
