Sensor Block Operation

Early Production ABS Operation

All electrical communication between the hydraulic assembly and all external system components, including the Anti-lock Brake Control Module (ABM), takes place through the sensor block 15 way connector. The sensor block is mounted on the left side of the hydraulic assembly and contains several other electrical components. The following connectors are included in the sensor block:
(1) Sensor Block Connector (15 way connector located on top of the sensor block)
(2) Control Pressure Switch (two pin on front of sensor block)
(3) Reed Block (two pin, located behind the sensor block cover)
(4) Valve Block (twelve pin, located behind the sensor block cover)
(5) Hydraulic assembly ground (single pin located on top of the sensor block)

Hydraulic Assembly:

The Sensor Block is serviced as a complete assembly. Individual components of the sensor block are not serviceable.

The sensor block also contains the following components critical to the system operation: valve relay, pressure monitoring module, boost piston travel switches, fluid level sensor.
