Valve Block Operation

Early Production ABS Operation

The valve block contains four wheel circuit solenoid valves and the replenishing valve. The position of these valves is controlled by the Anti-lock Brake Control Module (ABM). During normal braking, the valves are turned off and brake fluid flows directly through the wheel valves to the wheel brakes. The replenishing valve maintains pedal height during anti-lock braking, or hard braking without anti-lock operation, by redirecting brake fluid from the booster servo circuit to the master cylinder. The valve block includes a twelve pin connector to provide electrical connections for the wheel valves. The valve block is attached to the bottom of the booster/master cylinder.
The Valve Block is not serviceable and should never be removed or disassembled.
