Repair Verification Test Procedure - Transmission Control System

1. Leave the DRBII connected to the bus connector.

Reconnect all disconnected components.

Erase all fault messages.

2. Check transaxle fluid level (Adjust if necessary).

3. Road test vehicle

Use DRBII to monitor "RPM DISPLAY".

Make 15 to 20 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 upshifts. (Perform these shifts from a standing start to 45 MPH with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.)

Below 25 MPH, make 5-8 wide open throttle kickdowns to first gear. (Allow at least 5 seconds in 2nd or 3rd between each kickdown.)

From 4th gear, make 5 to 8 part throttle to wide open throttle kickdowns to 3rd or 2nd. (Allow at least 5 seconds in 4th between each kickdown.)

4. Check for fault messages set during the road test.

If a fault message occurs during the road test, proceed to TEST 4.

If no fault messages occurred but transaxle performance is judged unacceptable, see the "DIAGNOSIS CHART B".

If no messages were set and the performance of the transaxle during the road test was acceptable, return the vehicle to the owner.
