Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
1. Unplug 60-way engine controller harness connector, then turn ignition switch to On position.2. Connect the positive lead of a suitable voltmeter to the following terminals. If voltage is not 0 volts with speed control switch in Off position and battery voltage with switch in On position, repair main harness as necessary.
a. On except 1989 Spirit and Acclaim models w/3.0L/V6-181 engine, terminal 53.
b. On 1989 Spirit and Acclaim models w/3.0L/V6-181 engine, terminal 33.
c. On except 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models, terminal 60.
d. On 1989 Spirit and Acclaim models w/3.0L/V6-181 engine, terminal 53.
e. On 1991 models, terminal 33.
3. Connect the positive lead of a suitable voltmeter to terminal 9 on except 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models or terminal 48 on 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models.
4. Voltage should be 0 volts with speed control switch in Off position and battery voltage with switch in On position. If voltage does not change from battery voltage to 0 volts when pressing Set button, perform speed control switch test. If switch operation is satisfactory, repair main harness as necessary.
5. Connect the positive lead of a suitable voltmeter to terminal 7 on except 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models or terminal 50 on 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models.
6. Voltage should be 0 volts with speed control switch in either On or Off position. If voltage does not change from 0 volts to battery voltage when pressing Set or Resume button, perform speed control switch test. If switch operation is satisfactory, repair main harness as necessary.
7. Connect the positive lead of a suitable voltmeter to terminal 8 on except 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models or terminal 49 on 1989 Spirit and Acclaim w/3.0L/V6-181 engine and 1991 models.
8. Voltage should be 0 volts with speed control switch in Off position and battery voltage with switch in On position. If voltage changes from battery voltage to 0 volts when pressing Set or Resume button, perform speed control switch test. If switch operation is satisfactory, repair main harness as necessary.
9. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminal 29 and chassis ground. With brake pedal released meter should show continuity and show no continuity when pedal is depressed.
