SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Power steering fluid leakage during normal operation.
DIAGNOSIS
Inspect the power steering pressure hose for cracking and leaking in the area of attachment to the power steering oil pump. The leakage may be due to a cracked flare at the pump mounting end of the power steering pressure hose.
PARTS REQUIRED
1 Power Steering Pressure Hose PN 4333562
1 Reinforcement Bracket PN 4470591
1 Screw (Attaching) PN 6032509
REPAIR PROCEDURE
If the power steering pressure tube is cracked, it will be necessary to replace the hose and install reinforcement bracket.
1. Remove power steering pressure hose assembly.
FIGURE 1 - PRESSURE HOSE REINFORCEMENT BRACKET:
2. Remove two pump-to-pivot bracket mounting screws (Figure 1).
3. Install the reinforcement bracket (PN 4470591) and the new power steering pressure hose assembly (PN 4333562). Torque the power steering hose fittings to 17 ft.lbs. (23 N-m).
Install the reinforcement bracket as shown in Figure 1, and torque the pump-to-pivot bracket mounting bolts to 30 ft. lbs. (30 N-m). Tighten the reinforcement bracket hose clamp bolt to 35 in.lbs. (4 N-m).
4. Fill the system with power steering fluid, (Mopar PN 4318055 or equivalent) bleed the system, and check for leaks.
