SYMPTOM/CONDITION

With the engine at operating temperature and at idle, a drop in engine rpm may occur that results in an abnormal rough idle.

DIAGNOSIS

The idle drop is due to location at which fuel vapors from the vehicle charcoal canister are purged into the intake manifold.

This condition is most likely to occur with ambient temperatures above 90~F.

Due to varying operating conditions, it may be difficult to duplicate the rough idle condition when the vehicle is in the dealership.
