Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fig. 14 Fuel rail assembly.:

1. Disconnect wiring connector from injector.
2. Position fuel rail assembly so that fuel injectors are easily accessible.
3. Remove injector clip from injector and fuel rail, Fig. 14.
4. Pull injector straight out of fuel rail receiver cup.
5. Check injector O-ring for damage. Replace O-ring if damaged. If injector will be reused, install protective cap on injector tip to prevent damage.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Install injector clip by sliding open end into top slot of injector and onto receiver cup ridge into side slots of clip.
