Electronic Monitor
This system is an electronic monitor system with sensors, which displays messages on an instrument panel mounted console. If no messages are stored, the message ``Monitored Systems OK'' will be displayed approximately 6 seconds after ignition switch has been placed in the On position. The system is actuated by depressing the check button located on the front of the message display. When this button is depressed, the system will sound a tone and cycle through the messages and then return to normal operation. If the monitor detects a fault, the component will be noted on the display. The fault messages are as follows:BRAKE FLUID LOW--When this message is displayed, bring brake to proper level. The message will be reset after the ignition switch has been cycled to the Off position.
COOLANT LEVEL LOW--When this message is displayed, bring coolant to proper level. The message will be reset after the ignition switch has been cycled to the Off position.
DISC BRAKE PADS WORN--When this message is displayed, the disc brake pads should be inspected and replaced as necessary. After completing service, the message will be reset after the ignition switch has been cycled to the Off position.
DRIVER, PASSENGER OR HATCH AJAR--Close door or hatch indicated to cancel message.
ENGINE TEMPERATURE HIGH--This message will be indicated when an engine overheating condition is encountered. After repairing cause of engine overheating condition or when engine speed is less than 300 RPM, the message will be automatically cancelled.
EXTERIOR LAMPS ON--This message will appear when the ignition switch is in Off, Lock or Accessory, the driver's door is open and the light switch is in the On position. This message will be cancelled when light switch is placed in the Off position or the door is closed.
HEADLAMP, BRAKE OR TAIL LAMP OUT--The display will be illuminated when brake is applied or light switch is in the On position and a burned out lamp bulb is present. To reset message, replace burned out bulb, then actuate lamp circuit.
KEY IN IGNITION--This message will appear when the ignition switch is in the Off, Lock or Accessory position and the driver's door is open. This message will be cancelled when the keys are removed or the door is closed.
LOW FUEL LEVEL--When this message is displayed, add fuel to vehicle to reset message.
LOW OIL PRESSURE--This message will be displayed when a low engine oil pressure condition exist. If message is encountered with vehicle operating at idle speed, increase engine RPM. If message remains or if message is encountered while operating vehicle, the engine lubricating system should be checked and service immediately. After engine lubricating system has been serviced, the message will be automatically cancelled.
LOW TRANS PRESSURE--When this message is displayed, a problem in the automatic transaxle is present. After completing automatic transaxle service, the message will be reset after the ignition switch has been cycled to the Off position.
VOLTAGE LOW--When this message is displayed, a problem in the charging or electrical system exist. After servicing, the message will be reset after the ignition switch has been cycled to the Off position.
WASHER FLUID LOW--When this message is displayed, bring washer fluid to proper level to reset message.
