NS-16B Distributor SYNC Pick-Up Signal Wire

Complete No Start Test 16, Step A, before proceeding.

1. Place ignition switch in Off position, then disconnect distributor sync pick-up electrical connector.
2. Disconnect SMEC 60-way electrical connector, then connect an ohmmeter between terminal No. 26 of the 60-way connector and terminal No. 3 of the distributor sync pick-up electrical connector.
3. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, replace SMEC.
CAUTION: Before replacing the SMEC, check the Y7 terminal in cavity No. 26 of the 60-way connector to make sure it is not damaged causing a poor connection.
4. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, locate and repair open in wire between terminal No. 26 of the 60-way connector and sync pickup.
