NS-13B Checking SMEC Ground Circuit

Complete No Start Test 13, Step A, before proceeding.

1. With ignition switch Off, disconnect SMEC 60-way electrical connector.
2. Connect one lead of digital ohmmeter to system ground eyelet, then contact other lead to terminals 15 and 16 of the SMEC 60-way electrical connector.
3. If ohmmeter indicates continuity with less than .5 ohm of resistance, replace SMEC.
4. If ohmmeter indicates more than .5 ohm of resistance at one or both wires, repair ground circuit for high resistance to system ground eyelet.
5. If ohmmeter shows no continuity, check black wires for an open circuit to wiring harness splice. If no open is found, replace SMEC.
