Headlamp: Service and Repair












SEALED BEAM REPLACEMENT (Fig. 4 & 5)

(1) Remove screws from headlamp bezel and remove bezel, if so equipped.
(2) Remove screws from interior retaining ring, and remove ring. Do not disturb headlamp aimer screws.
(3) Pull out sealed beam unit and unplug connector, pulling straight off.
(4) Install new sealed beam unit.
(5) Install unit retaining ring.
(6) Install headlamp bezel.

Turn "ON" the parking lamps and actuate the dimmer switch to open the headlamp doors. Follow "Sealed Beam Replacement" procedures.






AERO HEADLAMP BULB AND LENS REPLACEMENT (Fig. 5)

Removal and Installation

Lens fogging is a normal condition and does not require service, moisture will vent from tubes behind the lens.

(1) Locate and remove the three (3) wire connector behind the headlamp assembly in the engine compartment.
(2) Rotate the bulb retaining ring counterclockwise and remove the ring and bulb from the lens assembly.
(3) Remove the headlamp lens attaching (4) nuts from behind the grille opening panel and remove the lens from the vehicle.
To reinstall, reverse the preceding operation.
