SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Metal attaching clips that fasten the convertible top boot to the rear deck moulding may come loose and fall inside the boot cover.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure outlines the replacement of the boot to deck opening moulding clips.
1. Zipper located on the underside of the boot cover (Figure 1) will allow access to the inner compartment of the boot assembly.

2. Metal clips that have dislodged from the slotted inner reinforcement may be found loose in the inner compartment of the boot. These clips should be discarded and new ones installed according to the following sequence.
3. Locate two slits in the boot fabric along outboard underside edge of the boot (Figure 1). A slot in the inner reinforcement will be located slightly inside the boot cover and is designed to receive the clip.
NOTE: FIGURES 2 AND 3 SHOW THE BOOT MATERIAL CUT AWAY. THIS WAS DONE ONLY TO CLARIFY LOCATION OF THE INNER REINFORCEMENT SLOT AND DOES NOT INDICATE THAT THE MATERIAL MUST BE CUT TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION.

4. Insert metal clips as shown in Figure 3 and pull firmly to engage clip barbs securely into plastic reinforcement slot.
