DR-9D Canister Purge Solenoid Circuit For A Short

Complete Driveability Test 9, Step C before proceeding.

1. With ignition switch in Off position, connect a voltmeter between canister purge solenoid electrical connector pink/black wire terminal and ground.
2. Disconnect 60-way electrical connector from SMEC.
3. Place ignition switch in Run position.
4. If voltmeter indicates battery voltage, replace SMEC.
NOTE: Before replacing the SMEC make sure the K1 pink/black wire is not shorted to ground.
5. If voltmeter indicates no voltage, replace canister purge solenoid.
