DR-9B Canister Purge Solenoid Control Wire

Complete Driveability Test 9, Step A before proceeding.

1. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect SMEC 60-way electrical connector and connect a voltmeter between terminal No. 54 and to ground.
2. Turn ignition switch to Run position.
3. If voltmeter indicates voltage is within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace SMEC.
CAUTION: Before replacing the SMEC, check the K1 terminal in cavity No. 54 of the 60-way connector to make sure it is not damaged causing a poor connection.
4. If voltmeter indicates no voltage, repair open circuit in wire from terminal No. 54 to canister purge solenoid.
